Canterbury and the Bulldogs Rugby League Football Club have agreed to terms with Lion which will see them replace Carlton & United Breweries as the Official Beer Partner of Canterbury and the Bulldogs.

This new partnership aligns Canterbury and the Bulldogs with the number one brewer in NSW and will see Canterbury serve the most popular market leading products in most beer categories for the first time.

Canterbury Directors appointed to lead the NSWRL

Congratulations to Canterbury Directors Dr. George Peponis OAM and Ray Dib on their appointments to the newly restructured seven person Board of the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL).

Canterbury Chairman Dr. George Peponis was appointed the Independent Chairman of the NSWRL, with Bulldogs Chairman and Canterbury Director Ray Dib re-elected a Director.

Said Dr. Peponis - “It is a great honour to be appointed to such a prestigious position and I am looking forward to the challenges which lie ahead.

Dr. George Peponis OAM & Steve Mortimer OAM awarded Life Membership

On Wednesday 20th March 2013, Dr. George Peponis OAM & Steve Mortimer OAM were awarded Life Membership of Canterbury League Club.

This is an honour well deserved. George & Steve have been Directors of the Club since 2003, with George the Chairman since 2010.

Both have been instrumental in placing the Club in a wonderful financial position for the future and continuing to improve the Club for our Members.

On behalf of everyone at Canterbury we congratulate George and Steve on this wonderful achievement.

On Friday 15 March Canterbury League Club will be participating in Sustainable Seafood Day.
Organised by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), Sustainable Seafood Day is all about rewarding those fisheries that have met the MSC standard for a well-managed and sustainable fishery. It asks restaurants and consumers in Australia to seek out, serve and eat MSC certified seafood to show their support.

VALE KEN CHARLTON (1923 - 2012)

Canterbury was saddened by the news of the passing of Ken Charlton, who passed away in November, aged 89. Ken played First Grade for the Bulldogs from 1946 until he retired in 1954. He captained the side in his final 3 years and played mainly in the forwards. Ken also served as Football Club Secretary from 1954-58 and Canterbury League Club Foundation Secretary from 1956 to 1965. He was also a Director of the Club from 1956 to 1969. From 1962 to 1973, Ken was Vice President of the N.S.W Rugby League Football Club.

Congratulations to Canterbury Chairman, Dr. George Peponis on receiving a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to rugby league football and to the community. Dr. Peponis was named in the prestigious Australia Day Honours list.
The OAM is an order of chilvalry established on 14 February 1975 by Queen Elizabeth II 'for the purpose of according recognition to Australian citizens and other persons for achievement or for meritorious service".

It is my pleasure to announce on behalf of the Board that Dave Brace will be joining us as the new Chief Executive Officer of Canterbury League Club – commencing in a couple of months when he has completed his current obligations.

Dave has extensive experience as a Chief Executive Officer at a number of Clubs, most recently at Wentworthville Leagues Club, where he has overseen a period of strong growth and the delivery of a number of successful projects.

It is with regret that I inform you that Mr David McIntyre has resigned as Chief Executive Officer of Canterbury League Club.
David has chosen to pursue other avenues and we wish him well in his future endeavours.
