24 local organisations have just received a very large injection of funds – $298,312 worth of grants to be exact – from Canterbury League Club through the ClubGRANTS program.

Each recipient received funding to run specific health and social welfare programs that assist different groups in need within the local community including family support, aged, disability, and early childhood and youth services.

Cupcakes a hit on RSPCA Cupcake Day

Hungry Canterbury staff were more than happy to devour cupcakes and raise $300 in support of RSPCA’s Cupcake Day on Monday 17 August.

It was the eighth year Canterbury has participated in Cupcake Day and the day certainly didn’t disappoint with a large table laden with vanilla cupcakes wit multicolour sprinkles, Oreo cupcakes, Flake chocolate cupcakes, banana cupcakes, coconut cupcakes and mini cupcakes to boot.

Team Canterbury represent at City 2 Surf 2015

A team of 33 participants, made up of Canterbury and C-Life staff and members, did themselves proud by completing the 14 kilometre City 2 Surf fun run last Sunday.

Team Canterbury pledged a fundraising goal of $2,015 before the race and eventually exceeded this target with a team total of $2,764.50 in support of National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) – a special mention to C-Life member, Sandra Apostolou, who raised a fantastic $1,707.50 by herself.

Climbing Mt Kosciuszko for a great cause

Jarrod Serwa was a young man on a very determined mission – climb to the top of Australia’s highest point, Mt Kosciuszko, and back down again to raise $20,000 for Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA).
