Lakemba Club unveils new Asian restaurant

30 January 2014

A new noodle and dumpling bar is serving up delicious meals to the hungry patrons of The Lakemba Club.

Run by the same successful team that manages the world-famous The Dynasty Restaurant at the Canterbury League Club, the new Imperial Noodle and Dumpling Bar is offering noodles and traditional house-made dumplings that made her sister restaurant so popular in the first place.

Patrons can expect, among other things, fresh prawn dumplings (har gao), steamed BBQ pork buns (char siu bao), steamed Shanghai style pork dumplings and steamed vegetarian dumplings.

For those that prefer a choice of wet and dry noodles or rice dishes, the menu also includes favourites like Singapore Laksa, Hokkien Noodles, Pad Thai and Canton Fried Rice.

The new Imperial Noodle and Dumpling Bar is part of a long-term plan which has seen the Lakemba Services Club reborn as The Lakemba Club among many other changes.

The first stage of construction unveiled a brand new sports bar and café area with all new furniture, TAB and television screens.

The second stage of renovations was completed in early January. This stage included the building of the new restaurant area with new kitchens, floors, walls and ceilings, and updated furniture.

The showroom and reception areas were also refurbished and the club’s external façade was rendered and received a fresh coat of paint.

“Construction is now complete and we would like to invite our members and guests to visit the new Lakemba Club. We hope the new restaurant and improved infrastructure will add greatly to their experience and time at the club,” said Dr George Peponis OAM, Chairman of the Canterbury League Club group.
